Our Jamaica braces doctor uses a wide variety of the latest technologies and procedures to straighten your smile. There have been great strides made in orthodontic techniques and appliances over the past decade. Our doctor will apply those that suit your case. Metal braces are still the most commonly used orthodontic treatment. These traditional braces allow three-dimensional movement of the teeth into their proper position and articulation. These braces use brackets on the front of the teeth with wires strung between them that exert pressure on the teeth. Many of our younger and teenage patients prefer to add colors onto the wires with the elastics that tie the wires. Similar to metal braces are lingual braces, which are attached to the back of the teeth instead of the front so they are not seen. Unfortunately, since lingual braces go behind the teeth they are much harder to work on than front-facing braces and, therefore, are more expensive.

Our Jamaica braces doctor also uses clear braces. These braces are much less visible than metal braces, so many of our patients prefer them. These brackets are made from a porcelain material that can be made to match the color of the patient’s teeth or clear. Clear plastic arch wires are used to connect the brackets. Clear braces show off the color in the elastic better and can be used without color, or ”invisible”. Please make an appointment so that our doctor can do an evaluative consultation to see if orthodontics can help you to enjoy the perfect teeth and smile.

Orthodontic treatment is recommended when your teeth are aligned in a fashion that is crooked or otherwise mispositioned. Your teeth don’t look good that way, but there are also implications for your dental wellness. Discomfort is non uncommon, and your jaws can be thrown out of sync with each other. Even your susceptibility to tooth decay and gum disease may be increased because flossing between your teeth can be hard to do effectively. Here at Lefferts Braces, we’re pleased to offer our Richmond Hill Invisalign braces as the simplest and most comfortable way to get your teeth straightened.

Invisalign is a system of aligners that are crafted out of clear plastic. They do the same job that you would expect from traditional metal braces, but with several plusses that are not possible with metal. At the top of that list is visibility. No one can see our Richmond Hill Invisalign braces when they’re on your teeth. That means no odd looks by other people or good-natured jokes at your expense. Instead of just one set of metal braces, you will wear multiple aligners. Using advanced 3-D technology, the aligners are made at our office. You can expect precision and an outstanding fit. Plastic won’t cause any mouth soreness or irritation, either of which is a typical risk with metal. And what about food? Traditional braces mean you can’t have anything crunchy, sticky, or chewy. With our Richmond Hill Invisalign braces, you can eat whatever you want. That’s because you take out your aligner when you are going to have food. You also take it out to brush and floss, leading to greater effectiveness in your oral hygiene.

There’s only one way to discover if this revolutionary method of orthodontic treatment is the right one for you. Contact us to set up an appointment for an examination and consultation.
